Explanation of what I am able to do and how I do it, I only provide services within my knowledge(trainings received) and capabilities. I only want clients to feel comfortable in the treatment room as much as I do. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact me!
*As always, thank you for your business 😇*
For deep tissue massages: This type of modality is not synonymous to rough or painful touch. If sharp pain is felt, and major bruising and swelling were to occur during a session, that means the practitioner is doing deep tissue incorrectly. I definitely strive to never do this to anyone. Deep tissue actually means using techniques to prep the body, to allow gentle pressure to access deeper layers of muscles. More information will be in a future blog post.
For lymphatic drainage:I am able to assist with general lymph flow maintenance for anyone with:
-well functioning lymphatic systems but may experience swelling from dietary reasons or positional causes from sleep
-well functioning lymphatic systems but recovering from minor injuries and minor surgeries
*depending on the complexity of past surgery received, or the severity of lymphatic dysfunction I may need a Dr’s note for clearance/instruction, or I will refer to another specialist in the area.
For cupping treatments:As explained on the “service spotlight” tab as well: this work is to bring concentrated blood flow to the applied areas. Especially on areas that have chronic stiffness.
a comprehensive list of contraindications may be said in person
But I apologize to inform that anyone undergoing
→current or recent intensive cancer treatment
→ as well as lymph nodes that were removed or radiated on
….will not be able to safely receive cupping treatments. Alternatively, I can provide a light Swedish style massage tailored to massage in the direction to non-compromised lymph nodes.
*I also use silicone based squeeze cups. I do not use glass cups, fire ignited swabs, nor do I use the plastic cups with suction gun.
For pre-natal massages:I know some massage therapists have tables with cut outs or paddings for a pregnant client to lay face down, I currently do not have this in my treatment room. I only have cushions to have my client lie on their sides and face up, I also will have to let anyone who is under 14 weeks pregnant, know that there are some risks involved during first trimester to have a firm pressure massage. It will be up to the client if they would like to reschedule to a later date.
For reiki sessions:This is mainly guided energy and breath work. This is not a fortune telling service nor an exorcism. I would be happy to refer out to practitioners who specialize on either one of those two disciplines! I have a video describing a typical reiki session on the video section of this website.
